Welcome to room 106's kindergarten!
My name is Mrs. Carney. I am thrilled to be your child's kindergarten teacher and to be part of their very important first year of school. I want your child to have a fun, exciting, and successful year. I am from Long Island, New York and was raised in a family of educators. My dad is a retired science teacher and coach and my mom is a retired reading teacher. I always wanted to be a teacher. I have a Bachelors degree in Speech Language Pathology from The Pennsylvania State University and a Master's degree in Elementary Education with certification in Special Education from Saint Joseph's University. I am married to a great guy and my best friend, Mike! I am also a proud mother of our 2 children, Christine and Patrick. Aside from being a mom, which is my favorite thing to do, I enjoy traveling, dancing, going to the beach and spending time with my family and friends. I love being a kindergarten teacher! It's so exciting to come to work everyday and be with so many eager and super students. I love their energy and enthusiasm. My goal for the class is to provide a stimulating environment whereby a child will have the opportunity to develop at his/her own rate and his/her own personal way. I hope to promote growth by blending the strengths, needs, interests, and developmental levels of each child. The kindergarten year is a very special year for your child, filled with new and exciting experiences. Together we have many fun things to share with your child and about your child this year- let's make it the very best possible by being partners in your child's progress. I am looking forward to a very special year!
